Katy and I recently had a discussion about the new year. She seems to get the concept that it is 2008 and will be 2009, but she didn’t know about New Year’s resolutions. I explained that people picked out goals or wishes for the themselves—things they hoped would happen in the coming year.
Me: So what will your resolution for 2009 be?
Katy: Um...I want to sing in front of people. Really well.
Now tell me, are you really that surprised?
