GA Visit: Relaxing Hometown Fun

Saturday and Sunday of our trip was spent in a more relaxing way with all of us hanging around Nina & Papa's house.

Saturday was my birthday. In Noah and Katy style, I receives some interesting and enduring gifts. First was the wakeup call using a singing Spongbob Squarepants birhtday card. Katy then gave me a homemade maraca build from a solo plastic cup and styrofoam peanuts. Later that day, the kids gave me a G.I.Joe T-shirt (I loved G.I.Joe when I was growing up) and a keychain/pen decorated as a soccer ball with plastic, stretch hair.

Saturday evening was a birthday cook-out at Aunt Nikki's house. The kids spent over an hour in their pool swimming aorund and having fun. They really are enjoying their cousins and Aunt Nikki's dogs.

Towards the end of evening, the kids got some more time to play by together. Noah and Jay decided it was time for a lightsaber battle using some very fancy lightsabers the cousins got for their birthday. It was getting dark at the time, which made it an amazing light show of kid jedi skills :). At the same time, Katy and cousin Clay decide to forgo the Star Wars action and do some more frog hunting. In a matter of 15 minutes, those kids had collected about 10 frogs and put them in a storage tub. Katy and Clay then proceeded to a "frog show" where each of the frogs was presented, with fanfair, to us and chirstened with a name. It was a precious moment.

Sunday was another relaxing day. Katy joined the Yorks going to Adel United Methodist Church for sunday school and church. The afternoon was spend hanging out at Nina and Papa's. Papa and I took Katy and Cousin Clay in the backyard for some reel casting practice. The both did a great job!

In the evening, we all went over to Aunt Nikki's house do some more swimming, then watch a movie, and for Noah to have a sleepover.

As you can imagine, the kids are having a lot of fun.
