The kids second day at Sun River was also fun filled. During the morning, we did a float down the Deschutes river from Sun River. The river is just a calm flow in this area and takes about 3 hours to go down. The kids did great on the float and seemed to enjoy themselves.
Katy spent most of the raft trip sitting on the side of the boat, splashing her feet in the water to help us go faster :). About 2/3s of the way through the trip, she seemed to have worn herself out and decided to lie in the bottom of the boat for a while and rest.
On the ride back on the bus from the raft pick-up area, Katy was being her usual charismatic self and talking to the people next to her. At one point, she volunteered the following statement, "Um, excuse me, we live at the nut house." This, of course, produced a round of laughter by the entire car. The statement was true, of course, as the house we rented at Sun River was christened "the nut house" by its owners.
The rest of the day was spent visiting friends in Bend and then going out to eat in the evening.
