Katy and I went to the 2013 Father-Daughter dance tonight, our 4th dance. Sara and the Erwin clan and friend hosted again this year. Andy was the DJ.
Before the dance, a bunch of the Father/Daughters went out to eat a Old Spaghetti Factory, which is becoming a pre-dance tradition. The girls had a lot of fun at dinner. It was also pretty impressive this year that a good number of the 3rd grade girls were sitting nicely, talking and enjoying their friends, but were not running around, being crazy and making a lot of noise. We may have passed some maturity threshold this year. There were a bunch of 1st graders in the other half of the room, and it was quite a difference a few years makes in maturity.
The dance was great. Andy did a good job DJ'ing, and the girls had a lot of fun dancing and frolicking with their friend. I got 3 great dances with Katy (up 2 from last year), and it really seemed like it meant something more to her this year. I really enjoyed sharing this event with her, and it made me really appreciate the growing up she is starting to undertake.
