Hawaii11 - Day 5

Day 5 was another nice, relaxing day for the kids. We spent half the day at the lagoon at the Hilton. Noah and Katy blast playing in the sand and water with the other kids at the beach.

After we had our fill of sun, we packed up the kids and took a drive up the north Kohala cost for about 45 minutes. Beautiful drive, even though the kids spend a good portion of it playing iPod. We turned around at a small town, Hawi, and enjoyed the setting sun on our drive back to the hotel.

That night we decided to watch a movie (DVD) and I finally talked both kids into watching Harry Potter 1. Both of them have been lukewarm to Harry Potter, both thinking it is a little to scary and strange. After some initial complaining, both of the kids began to get into the movie, and got interested in Harry's challenges with his family and the amazement as he discovered he was a wizard. To help keep them engaged and less scared, I told them what was about to happen in some scenes, and provided some background on some of the concepts. I also decided to stop the movie before it got into some of the scarier parts in the second half of the movie.
