Noah is a picky eater. In his defense, I was a very picky eater at his age too. Certain textures just never jived with me and I still struggle to eat certain foods like raw carrots.
Over the last 6 weeks we have switched the entire family over to an all natural/organic diet. This was a struggle at first to switch the kids off of their regular 'kid food' to organic alternatives. It required a lot of trial and error and quiet a bit of food being sent over to Aunt Karen's for Moose (their dog) that the kids wouldn't eat. I admit veggie hot dogs are not good. But something good has come out of all of this, one of which is that Noah and Katy are gaining a new appreciation for trying new foods and not being wasteful (b/c food we eat goes into the garbage and garbage goes to the landfill which is bad for the Earth. Noah has become quite the environmentalist and conservationist. He loves the Earth and hates the landfill.)
Ok... to get to my point... Noah was told by a friend the other day, "how are you going to know if you like something or not if you don't ever try it. " He has embraced the motto. He now LOVES ranch dressing and still does not like carrots even slathered in ranch dressing. But he does love McDonald's Snack Wraps with honey mustard and... drum roll... lettuce! He ate the lettuce and then he said, " I like lettuce" and requested that I make him a snack wrap for his lunch. One small step for mom-kind.
